San Salvador a hidden gem in Central America

El Salvador, really impressed me. Didn’t know what to expect for such a small country.  Plenty of hidden gems such as the National Palace now a museum and now in use for the National Archives.

The anthropology museum David J Guzman is a must and so is doing the walk in the central market an eye opener. Salvador has received a bad rap in recent years for crime, gangs etc.. but compared to Guatemala we felt safer and made friends with a couple of locals who says some of the reputation is unwarranted. Yes there are problems but then you wouldn’t go to the no go areas?? some things must be put in perspective.

My chosen photo for today is a picture that I took looking out at the central plaza from the National Palace.
